Privacy Policy

1What stays on your device

The heart of Olune lives only on your device — never on our servers. This includes your tasks, focus sessions, mood entries, body check-ins, habits, spoon and social-battery logs, sleep and medication records, DBT diary cards, parked thoughts, your RSD journal, your AI chat history, and your safety plan.

This data is stored in Olune's private on-device database. We can't see it, and it never leaves your phone unless you explicitly choose to share or export it. Uninstalling Olune, or using "Delete all my data" in Settings, permanently removes it.

2Staying anonymous (and the optional account)

By default, Olune doesn't ask for your name, email, or any account. Your data is tied only to a random ID generated on your device — not to your identity.

You can optionally create an account if you want recovery or cross-device features. If you choose to, we store a username and a securely hashed passphrase, and — only if you provide them — an encrypted recovery email or a Google sign-in. This is always optional. Olune works fully without it.

3What we do send to our servers

A small, specific set of things need our servers to work:

That's the full list. Sensitive entries — your RSD journal, self-harm urge ratings, and safety plan — never leave your device under any circumstances.

4AI and Anthropic

Olune's AI features are powered by Anthropic's Claude. When you use them, your message and limited context are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. We don't store these conversations on our servers, and Olune contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking. Anthropic's handling of the data sent to it is governed by their privacy policy (anthropic.com/privacy).

5What we never do

We do not sell, rent, or share your data for advertising or marketing. Olune contains no analytics services, no ad networks, no crash-reporting or tracking SDKs, and sends no background usage data. The only third parties involved are our AI provider (Anthropic), the service that delivers push notifications, and — only if you provide a recovery email — an email provider to send that one message.

6Keeping and deleting your data

Because most of your data lives only on your device, you're in control of it. "Delete all my data" in Settings removes your local data and any small amount stored on our servers. Uninstalling the app removes everything stored locally. These actions can't be undone.

7Your rights

Under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws, you have the right to access your data, delete it at any time (Settings → Delete all my data), and understand how it's used (this policy). Because Olune identifies you by a device ID rather than an account by default, data on one device can't be accessed from another. If you'd like help exercising your rights, contact us at privacy@olune.org.

8Age requirement

Olune is intended for people aged 16 and over. If you're under 16, please use Olune with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used Olune, please contact us at privacy@olune.org.
